Welcome
ATV is pleased to invite you to the 6th Knud Lind Larsen Symposium. This biannual event will be held from Friday, January 29 to Saturday, January 30, 2010 on the Radsisson/ SAS Falconer Hotel in Frederiksberg, Copenhagen.
The Knud Lind Larsen Symposium is an event sponsored by a donation to the Academy from the Knud Lind Larsen estate. The 6th Symposium will feature 12 distinguished speakers. To this event the Knud Lind Larsen Prize and the Thorkild Holm Prize will be presented.
Knud Lind Larsen Symposium VI 2010: “Visions in Chemistry”
Chemistry plays a central role in the field of natural sciences, with interfaces to biology, medicine, physics and materials science. Advances in the theory of structure and bonding and the understanding of reaction mechanism, coupled with methodological developments in chemical synthesis (both organic and inorganic) now allow the design and preparation of new chemical entities which impact beneficially on the health and welfare of society. It is today possible, via an interdisciplinary approach, to probe and understand complex natural phenomena and describe them in the stringent molecular language of chemistry.
All the invited speakers are representative of the state of the art in diverse areas of the field such as theoretical chemistry, materials and nanoscience, medicinal chemistry, catalysis and target-oriented organic synthesis. The conference will therefore appeal to a broad audience and will highlight both the challenges which modern chemistry faces and the opportunities which it provides.
